When it comes to the home business industry, most experts would agree that network marketing is one of the best ways to make money and go into business for yourself. If you think about it, where else can you start your own business for less than a thousand dollars with the potential to turn it into a million dollar business?
Now, as a big disclaimer, most people in network marketing fail. There are many reason for this, but there is one reason in particular the people fail in this industry. It’s because they don’t market their business to the right target audience. There are many people in this industry that have build 6 & 7 figure businesses with their network marketing companies. The main difference is that they know how and who to market their business to, and they people that fail don’t.
Learning how to market, especially online, is going to take some training and a little time. But what’s more important is that you know who to market your MLM business too. Once you know this, when you do learn the skill of online marketing you will have no problem making money in your business.
Who To Market Your MLM / Network Marketing Business Too
I’ll start by telling you who to market your business too, then I’ll explain why… You want to market your business to people who are either currently involved in network marketing or have been in the past. That simple. Here’s why…
When you join a network marketing opportunity, they all teach you the same thing to get started – to make a list of your friends and family and start inviting them to presentations. Even the big companies do it, like Rodan & Fields, Herbalife, Amway, Organo Gold Coffee, Mary Kay Cosmetics, and the list goes on. So while all of these companies have the best intentions in mind, that is not how you build a business. Think about it this way…
Let’s say your uncle is an accountant. He’s been with the same company for a long time and he’s happy with his job. Why would he want to come and learn about your new business opportunity? He has no interest in starting his own business? The same goes for the rest of your list of friends and family. Unless you have someone that you know is the entrepreneur type, most everyone else could care less.
I don’t know if you are aware of this, but the majority of people in network marketing are failing. Pick any company you want, and they will have many success stories, but they will have thousands of people that are not making money. Just think of how many people in all the different network marketing companies are failing. These are people who are ALREADY interested in network marketing. They are entrepreneurs. They want to start their own business. These are PRIME prospects!!!
When you pitch your opportunity to someone, especially to a friend or relative, the hardest part isn’t selling them on the products, it’s selling them on the opportunity. Why they should want to work for themselves and create a bigger income stream, live the dream life, etc… But you are wasting your time because most people are content with their lives and are too afraid to change or take risks. However, the thousands upon thousands of people failing in this industry don’t need to be convinced. They are already sold on the idea of network marketing. All you have to do is get your opportunity in front of them and let them know why they should choose to work with you.
Maybe you will be right there with them helping them along the way and support them. Here’s a perfect example of what I mean…
Let’s say you are a distributor with Jeunesse Global (no affiliation, just an example company). You come in contact with someone who is a distributor with Herbalife, but they aren’t having any success in that business. Let’s say their biggest problem is that they are getting any support from their sponsor. So now you have someone who is in network marketing, they love the industry, but they aren’t having any success. You let them know about your opportunity, and let them know that you will be there to help and support and that you will be building your business with them.
Trust me when I tell you that this is far easier than trying to sell your opportunity to someone who isn’t interested already. Now, when it comes to marketing your business and getting it in front of your target audience, that is going to require you to learn some online marketing skills. Things like video marketing, SEO, pay per click, solo ads, and things like that.
So once you learn your marketing skills, focus on marketing to the right people and the sky will be the limit as to your success.
